Biography

Dr. M. Ashraf Khan is an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Saginaw Valley State University. He earned his PhD degree from University of Notre Dame in Electrical Engineering, EE, in 2014. He completed BSc degree in EE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and MSc in EE from University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After his PhD, his academic career started as a visiting assistant professor in Jackson State University, MS. Next, he joined as an Assistant Professor in Saginaw Valley State University, MI. He got tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. Currently he is a board member of Michigan Space Grant Consortium. He was a reviewer at IEEE and ASEE conferences in the past. He also served as a technical committee member and moderator at conferences. Dr. Khan’s area of expertise includes semiconductor fabrication, electrical packaging reliability, assistive tool design and renewable energy. His current research is focused on renewable energy and sustainability. In his recent work, he developed the solar cage idea to study energy harvest and sustainability. His research articles were presented and published in conferences and journals.
