I have been a registered nurse since 1976 and have worked in many roles including staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, administrator, educator, and expert witness. My clinical area of expertise is maternal and child health, but I have served as Director of Nursing in a local acute care hospital for most of my career. I am certified as a Nursing Executive Advanced, a Nursing Educator, and a Clinical Nurse Leader. I am actively involved in nursing professional associations and feel it is important that we all contribute. I have served as the President of our local chapter of American Nurses Association-Michigan and Board Treasurer for Theta Chi, our local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau. I am a full-time faculty member at SVSU, served as the Graduate Nursing Program coordinator, served as the Department of Nursing, and enjoy helping many students achieve their goals. I was a part-time instructor for SVSU when the program began in 1978-79 while I was in graduate school at U of M. Nursing is an exciting and rewarding profession, and I feel privileged to help prepare our upcoming professional colleagues.
