Biography
Deborah Huntley joined the SVSU faculty in the fall of 1998 after spending 14 years as a research scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She teaches the physical chemistry curriculum, a two semester lecture and laboratory sequence. She also teaches introductory chemistry to both majors and non-majors.
Her research interests focus broadly on material science, and particularly on surface processes. Her predominant expertise is in surface chemistry, especially mechanisms of catalytic reactions. Research projects in her group range from low-temperature sol-gel synthesis of metal oxide powders and films to computational studies of adsorbate-surface interactions. Specific research projects are described in more detail on her SVSU homepage.
