Brandon HaskettDr. Brandon Haskett is in his 12th year at SVSU and is an Professor of Music. He also currently serves as the President of the SVSU Faculty Association. Prior to his appointment at SVSU, Haskett taught at North Georgia College and State University for three years. Previously, he taught band, string orchestra, general music, jazz band, and steel band at Kenilworth School in Phoenix, Arizona where he also served as the Coordinator of Instrumental Music for the PESD #1 school district. Haskett's research expertise centers on the curriculum and pedagogy of steel bands in U.S. K-12 and collegiate institutions as well as professional development issues of the steel band directors. He is a founding member and an Executive Board Member of the non-profit, National Society of Steel Band Educators.

My research focuses on world music ensembles (particularly steel bands) in U.S. schools and universities.
