Biography

Professor Pierce received her Ph.D., M.A. and B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on gender and rhetoric. She is interested in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication; Communication and Culture; Communication Theory and Research; and Public Communication: Rhetoric and Communication in Democracy. Her research has been published in Communication Studies. Dr. Pierce regularly teaches courses in Interpersonal Communication, Family Communication, Gender and Communication, and Basic Principles of Communication.
